The Knapp Family and the Salo W. and Jeannette M. Baron Foundations

The Knapp Family Foundation was established in 1979 and the Salo W. Baron and Jeannette M. Baron Foundation in 1987. Both Foundations have, among their philanthropic missions, the fostering and support of education in Jewish history and culture. Integral to that goal is the recognition of pathbreaking scholarship that explores important topics in the Jewish experience in original and revealing ways. It is hoped that examining the Jewish experience can help illuminate the human condition more generally and thereby lead to greater understanding.
